I grew up spending most of my time at my grandmas. Marcus spent a lot of time visiting his aunt and uncle next door. With all this passing we never saw each other. His Aunt Patty was always trying to get us to meet. My stubborn self refused to waste time on a younger guy. One day I noticed a very handsome dark haired guy working on a pickup truck with his uncle. I asked his Aunt who he was. She replied with a big smile "that's my nephew". She then went on about how much of a gentleman he was. She also invited me to his 21st birthday party. I agreed to come. I worked 2nd shift so I arrived a little too late. Marcus was already asleep after all the partying. "Well so much for that" I said. His Aunt wasn't giving up that easy. She asked me to come back in the morning. Marcus also agreed to meet me that morning. Of course after a night of partying he wasn't in the best shape to meet someone but he was interested. We both didn't expect anything to come out of this. I mean after all how often do blind dates work out? After getting a little dolled up I arrived the next morning with my grandma who also wanted to meet this handsome nephew. "Wow" seemed to escape from Marcus' mouth. I don't think he meant to say it outloud. I'm not going to lie he made me blush a little. We talked for hours and instantly had a connection. When it was time to leave he was too busy checking out "the girl next door" and backed out of the driveway and hit the fence. He was so embarrassed he sped off. I laughed a little because he was a so nervous but I found it cute. He thought for sure I wouldn't talk to him anymore after that. He waited almost a week before contacting me for a date. First dates are the best right? Wrong! At least that's what he thought, with our bad restaurant service, getting caught in a rain storm, and his truck breaking down. Well we shared my chicken, danced in the rain, and laughed all night about the truck. So everything was going wrong but we knew everything felt right.
