Sarah adopted Bubba in 2017, a year before meeting Jakob. She initially was just supposed to foster him, but that only lasted a few weeks before she realized she would never let him go. He’s now 8, loves treats, going on midnight walks, getting brushed, and bothering people while they sleep. Sarah and Jakob adopted Rosie from a foster home in 2024 when she was 6 months old. She loves snuggling, parkour, scratching things, and chasing Bubba. Sarah and Jakob also have hermit crabs who live in their tank with isopods and springtails.

Jakob moved into a studio apartment at PennState in 2018. He heard a knock on his door right after he moved in and opened it because he assumed maintenance was coming by. Instead, Sarah was standing there with her cat, Bubba. She entered, introduced herself, and made herself and Bubba at home. She insisted they hang out immediately and go to a party together. They went to the party, but ended up sitting outside talking all night.

Sarah and Jakob will go to Aruba for a honeymoon in September! They plan to continue living in Pennsylvania to remain close to their families.
