Matt and Becca met through mutual friends, 'The Friend Group', who all played Sunday soccer together every week in college at UCF. The two were friends for a couple of years before they began dating. It all started on Halloween in 2014 when the pair found themselves together after getting separated from the friends they came with. After that, they began talking more frequently and in November went on their first date. Matt always likes to remind Becca that she got them lost on the way to the restaurant that first night. From that point on, it was a life full of love and adventure. Early in their relationship, the pair traveled to Costa Rica with a group of friends on an exciting trip through the rain forest. For their one year anniversary, Matt and Becca drove the California coast from San Diego to San Francisco and even made a stop in Lake Tahoe. They fell in love with each other and traveling and always had eyes on the next vacation. Some of the trips included many out to Colorado, the Smokey Mountains, Ireland, Iceland, and Spain. Three and a half years into their relationship, they had a 10 day trip planned to Spain. The plan was to watch Messi play at Camp Nou in Barcelona, surf the northern coast in San Sebastian, hike through Los Picos De Europa, and end in the capital city of Madrid. When in Madrid, Matt surprised Becca with a day trip to Toledo, just one hour south. They spent the day walking the beautiful walled city and taking in the sights. In the afternoon, Matt took Becca on a 2 mile walk uphill because he told her there was a great lookout point at the top. Becca was dragging her feet after a long day of walking, but they made it to the top. Becca turned around to pose for a photo looking out over all of Toledo... when Matt said her name, she turned back around and Matt was down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Becca said YES!
