We’re getting married!!

I was a NYC Covid departure at the start of the pandemic in 2020. In November, I moved to Atlantic Pointe Apartments in Atlantic Highlands, NJ. I was on the dating apps and I saw Kevin there, for some reason or no reason at all, I swiped left. A week or so later, I saw Kevin walking outside in my new apartment complex! He was CUTE! & TALL! I was on a mission. If you know me, you know that when I put my mind to something, it's full speed ahead. Determined to talk to him, I got back on the apps, narrowed my radius to the smallest possible, and found him again! This time it was on Hinge; I "liked" a picture of his and he "liked" me back, so we started chatting. We made a plan to go out, but it fell through and we never rescheduled. Remember, I knew he lived in my complex, but as far as I was aware, he didn't know that I lived in his! Over the course of the next year, as it started to get warmer outside, I began seeing him in our parking lot. Not only did we live in the same apartment complex, but we lived in buildings right next to each other. We started running into each other, first by the mailbox, then by the garbage dumpsters (how romantic), etc. We later found out, after we eventually started dating, that these "random run ins" weren't so random - they were pretty intentional on both of our parts. I'd look out my window every now and then to see if he was outside, and sometimes, if he was and I looked cute, I'd run outside too and "check the mailbox". In the same way, he'd be looking for me and would frequently drag his dog, Cosmo, over to the grass near my apartment to linger in hopes that I would be on my way out. After 3 parking lot run-ins (including introductions and some conversation), I decided that the very next time we ran into each other, I would grab the bull by the horns and ask Kevin out for a drink! On Wednesday, 10/13/21, I was sitting in my car outside my apartment about to head out to meet my friend for dinner, my head down sending a quick text. When I looked up, I found that Kevin and Cosmo were standing RIGHT there! Cosmo was doing his business right next to my left front wheel (ha!). This was my chance! I rolled down the window, we chatted, and I went in for the kill. With a look of surprise, Kevin accepted my invitation to get drinks together! Funny to now know that the whole time I was trying to run into Kevin in the parking lot, he was ALSO trying to get up the courage to ask me out; I beat him to it. When I told my Dad I had a date planned with "Tall Guy" (Kevin's nickname at first), and that I had been the one to ask HIM out, he just sighed with skepticsm. Kevin and I had our first date on 10/19/21, and that was it for both of us! Just one month later, when my dad asked how it was going with "Tall Guy", I said "oh, Kevin? he's great. We're going to get married". 8 months later, on 6/3/2022, Kevin popped the question; the best day of our lives. Who knew that a global pandemic, forcing me to move back to NJ, and forcing Kevin to stay put in his apartment for another lease term, would lead us to our forever! We fully believe that everything happens for a reason, and that this was absolutely NOT a coincidence. Whatever or whoever put us together, we were meant to be and we couldn't be more grateful.
