We first crossed paths at Planet Fitness—at an hour when most of the world was asleep. Luke worked the overnight shift, and I just happened to be one of those night owls who found comfort in late-night workouts. What started as simple conversations between sets slowly grew into a friendship that neither of us expected, but both of us cherished. Life, as it often does, took us in different directions. Luke moved on to a new job, and time quietly passed. But somehow, we never really lost touch. Years later, we decided to meet for a Valentine’s dinner—strictly as friends, we both insisted. No expectations, no pressure… just catching up. But there was something about that night—effortless laughter, familiar comfort, and a spark neither of us could quite ignore. That summer, everything began to change. We celebrated my 21st birthday at Bamboo Bar, where Luke made sure it was a night to remember (even if parts of it are a little blurry!). Not long after, I texted him on a whim, asking if he wanted to go to the bar. True to who he is, he picked me up and took me to 11th Frame. Between games of cornhole, laughter, and a little bit of liquid courage, something shifted—we started seeing each other differently. When he dropped me off that night, I teased him that he owed me a date. Luke, a little nervous but completely sincere, managed to say, “You owe me a kiss.” And just like that, everything changed. Our first official date was something out of a story—Fun Fore All, where I proudly claimed victory in mini golf, followed by dinner at Bravo!. It was simple, fun, and perfect in every way. I was ready for more, ready for us—but Luke, thoughtful as always, wanted to be sure we were both truly ready. And while I already knew, I waited. About a week later, before even stepping out of the car at 11th Frame to meet friends, Luke turned to me and asked me to be his girlfriend. From that moment on, we’ve been inseparable. And while Luke may think he knows what he’s signing up for… I’m not so sure he fully realizes what he’s in for. :)
