Dan and Kristina went to high school together, and first met in chemistry class. While they had classes together they didn't start dating until college. In February of 2016 Dan texted Kristina because she kept liking his tweets on twitter (he is pretty funny). The two kept texting and would facetime regularly since they were doing long distance. Dan was studying at IU and Kristina was at ASU. Eventually in the summer of 2016 Kristina went back to Indiana to visit Dan, and see if they liked each other in person! They both hit it off and started officially dating on June 18th. They did long distance for 3 years until they graduated college and Kristina moved back to Indiana in 2019. They've now been together for over 6 years, and look forward to a lifetime together.

It happened at the marina in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Dan asked Kristina if she wanted to walk around the marina with their dog Indy. As they were walking Dan said he had to put something on Indy, and when Kristina turned around their dog was wearing a pink bandana that said, "Can we keep him? Will you marry dad?" Then Dan asked if he could marry her, and of course she said yes! The proposal was just the two of them so after they went back to Kristina's dads house and celebrated with their families.
