We met at Pursuit Wine Bar in Washington, DC. It was a short meeting. He had to catch a train. He did most of the talking and I listened. Three years later, he's still the great storyteller and I'm the great listener. Actually, that first meeting I wasn't listening that hard. I was focused on his smile, dimples and handsome face. He didn't think I liked him, but I was hooked....

Our first official date was in March 2017. We met in DC for dinner and a movie....Rosa Mexicana and '"The United Kingdom". The first date was successful. He was hooked....

Christmas 2017 was our first as a couple. Michael has a tradition of Christmas Eve with his kids. He goes all out for the holiday...Christmas trees, stockings, wreaths, gifts, stocking stuffers, more gifts....all the things! Me, not so much. I'm chill when it comes to Christmas. I'm more of a Thanksgiving girl. Thanksgiving all day long! Michael planned a pretty elaborate engagement surprise during a formal Christmas party that his professional fraternity gives every year. He had planned for my family to attend and everyone planning the party was all in, totally unknown to me. The only element not cooperating was the weather. It snowed that day and the party was cancelled. Time to pivot to Plan B....a Christmas morning engagement. On Christmas morning his daughter, was over and we were opening like a million gifts (Michael's a beast with the Christmas gifts). After opening what I thought was my last gift, Michael said he had one more. He went upstairs, came back down, got on his knees and proposed. His daughter recorded it all on her phone. It was such a surprise and completely unexpected by me that I didn't say a word! His daughter had to ask me..."so are you saying yes?" Yes! I said yes!

March 10, 2019 was our wedding date last year, but we had to postpone for many reasons including the hospitalization and subsequent passing of Michael's mom. We experienced more stressors that year than we'd like to remember, it was hard, but we survived!

With perseverance and determination we entered 2020! Nothing can stop us...we survived 2019! Then...a global pandemic hit..wait, what??? Well, we are still determined and continue to persevere. And yes, we are getting married on Saturday, August 29, 2020 in Jamaica, West Indies! Thank you all for your love and support. Pictures will be forthcoming!!
