When it comes to the first time Mollie and I met, there are so many different ways to tell the story of January 21, 2023 and the days that followed. I remember her beautiful eyes, sweet smile, and funny Midwest accent (I'm still trying to teach her how to say bag) had me hooked from the moment we met. I peppered Mollie with questions about her life back in Minnesota and she happily answered each one as our friends chuckled watching me fumble over my words. But after tracking Mollie down on campus some time after, it only took a few moments of one-on-one interaction to go from thinking Mollie was a very sweet girl to an incredibly special person. Her bubbly personality, fiery conversation starters, and surprising humor slowly but surely brought me out of my shell. I made it my goal to play "San Diego tour guide" for the new girl in town, and Mollie and I had soon developed a close friendship that I eventually turned into a relationship when I asked her to be my girlfriend in March 2023. Since then, our relationship has been a space where we've shared ups and downs, laughs, tears, and tons of growth moments as we've gone from sophomores in college to adults out in the real world. We like to say we give each other what the other person has always needed, and as our differences make us stronger we have always brought lots of joy, love and spiritual growth into each other's lives. The past three years have been such a rewarding journey, but the fun is just beginning. Now taking on adulthood in the land of 10,000 lakes together, we are beyond excited to tie the knot and see all that the Lord has in store for our marriage.
