Priyanka and Prabhakar both studied at the University  of Illinois and knew each other casually, but never really interacted much. They had some mutual friends and were aware of each other’s existence— but that’s about it. Things may have continued this way if it weren’t for the universe intervening and doing a little matchmaking. One summer, Priyanka, Prabhakar, and many of their friends were staying on campus. They happened to be at the same party one evening, and they ended up chatting the whole time and really hitting it off. Despite having a great time, they didn’t exchange numbers at the end of the night. Thankfully, the universe was about to throw some Champagne dreams into their Champaign lifestyle. The day after the party, Priyanka realized she had Prabhakar’s credit card in her wallet— after accidentally using it to pay for her dinner! The cards had gotten switched the night before!  The two of them met up so she could return his credit card and Prabhakar plucked up the courage to ask Priyanka for her number. They continued talking and getting to know each other for the rest of the summer. The couple started dating soon after and they have been together ever since. They have grown together through multiple milestones such as first jobs and grad school. Prabhakar planned a special proposal for Priyanka in Geneva, IL, the town where he grew up. He surprised her by involving many of her friends and family for the proposal and dinner after. Priyanka and Prabhakar love traveling to new places (like Rome and Hawaii), trying new recipes (Prabhakar is a fantastic cook! Priyanka is a decent eater) and spending time with  their nephews. They can’t wait to celebrate with all their friends and family and take this next step in their relationship after dating for 7 years!
