Anand Karaj translates to "blissful union" and is the Sikh wedding ceremony. During the ceremony, the couple takes four rounds or "lavan" around the Guru Granth Sahib, which is the Sikh holy scripture. The four rounds symbolize their union and shared journey. Guests of all backgrounds are welcome to attend the Anand Karaj. We ask that everyone dress modestly and cover their head as a sign of respect inside the Gurdwara. Head coverings will be available if you need one. We recommend arriving on time because tea and snacks will be served before the ceremony and lunch will be served after.
