“I’m canceling, I’m tired and I have nothing to say” - the words said by the bride on September 14th, 2016... the day that two great things happened: she made her first (and only) A on an organic chemistry exam and, more importantly, she met her future husband!! The couple met when they were set up by the MOH, Sydney, for a “Candy Land” themed ZTA date party. Though Priscilla begged Sydney to cancel on Nick since she was tired from studying, Syd refused saying it would make her “look bad” in front of her latest love interest who was a friend of Nick’s. The time of the party arrived and Priscilla gave Syd a “WTF” look when a string-bean dressed in a painters suit walked in claiming he was a “candy cigarette,” but, later that evening it became clear to Priscilla that Nick was “the one” when she asked whether she should wear a blue or rainbow wig and he responded “well, I like the rainbow one so I’ll wear that and you wear the blue.” Romance is not dead, folks...
Nick was in NYC visiting Priscilla when he suggested that they get lunch and then go picnic at her favorite spot at the park by her apartment after she finished her test. After a hectic week, she quickly jumped on the offer. Being that she basically lived at this park, this seemed like a very unsuspicious plan. In fact, just that morning Priscilla texted her girlfriends, “he’s definitely not proposing this weekend... he asked me to grab something out of his suitcase, therefore, he’s obviously not hiding a ring in there!” Because all Fridays following big exams are considered a “Fun Friday,” Priscilla decided to wear a crazy t-shirt. The horror on friend Katie’s face (who was in on the plan) when Priscilla walked into her apartment with a Snoop Dogg t-shirt, socks that read “I will get sh*t done today”, no make-up, and “study hair” just hours before the proposal. Following lunch, they stopped at home to pack a bag for the picnic. As they were leaving, Priscilla decided that her Snoop shirt was a little too warm for a hot July day, and opted for a more breathable option. Thank you, God! Priscilla and Nick walked to the park and headed towards “the spot”, (a spot she had spent many hours studying / calling Nick saying she wished he was there). Priscilla quickly noticed that her spot was taken. Somebody had already set up a picnic with nice champagne, roses, and Twizzlers. “OMG, these are all of my favorite things, ugh some girl is going to be so happy, I wish you did things like this for me!,” she complained to Nick. To her surprise, it was for HER!! Nick got down on one knee and pulled out a little box. It didn’t register to Priscilla at first, until she saw Sydney hiding out in a bush with her phone out taking pictures. Sydney was the one who set the couple up in college and was adamant that she would be there taking pictures in a bush when they got engaged. It all clicked... “OMG, it’s happening!!” Nick asked, “Will you marry me?” to which she responded, “YES!!!!!”
