Visit the historic city center of Santo Domingo. Filled with eateries, museums, and gorgeous colonial houses. It is the oldest European-established settlement in the Americas founded in 1502. The area has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. You can visit the fist cathedral in the New World or the house built in honor of Christopher Columbus. Fun fact: we had dinner at Pat'e Palo (located in Plaza España, Colonial Zone) to celebrate our 1st year as boyfriend/girlfriend. Strongly recommend!
Dominican Republic is home to beautiful beaches, if you plan on staying longer be sure to visit any of our beaches. The island is well known for its breathtaking beaches of white sand and crystal clear waters. Feel free to search for the perfect fit for you, but some of our personal favorite beaches that we recommend are: Bahia de las Aguilas, Playa Bonita, Punta Bonita, Playa Ermitaño, and Coson.
While in Santo Domingo we recommend a fine dining experience in one of the many restaurants around the city.
