A great place for lunch or dinner. This pub is named after a Skye Terrier from the 19th century that spent 14 years guarding his owner's grave until he perished in 1872. A wonderful place - just remember to be respectful and please don't rub Bobby's nose!
Take a stroll through Greyfriars Kirkyard Cemetery. If you're a Harry Potter fan, you may see some familiar names! There are various ghost tours or Harry Potter tours you can take that go through the cemetery - or you can explore it on your own!
Lots of fun shops! This is definitely a must-see. If you're a Harry Potter fan, there are various HP tours. J.K. Rowling got the idea for Diagon Alley from Victoria Street! There are also a couple of Harry Potter themed shops, plus more!
Open for lunch and dinner, 7 days/week, Howie's is a must go to!
Located at the bottom of Victoria Street, in Edinburgh's historic Old Town. There are lots of food options, bars, and there's even an artisan market on the weekends!
Located in Edinburgh's Grassmarket, this pub is named after Maggie Dickson. Maggie was publicly hanged in Grassmarket in 1724. However, on the transport back with relatives for her burial, her coffin was seen moving and she was found to be alive! She lived another 40 years and became known as "Half-Hangit Maggie." Her story is remembered in the name of this pub, which overlooks her "execution" site. This is a fun spot to pop in for a drink or two.
A very fun bar and a very good time! Housed in a 19th-century church, Mary Shelley's tale gets real! Frankenstein is a unique themed bar in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town - so come party with the Monster!
Another fun time! Scotland's most haunted pub! The venue proves why Edinburgh really is a Jekyll & Hyde city. Half of the club was part of the infamous underground vaults - once the hang of criminals, thieves, and the very unsavory.
You can't go to Edinburgh without also doing a gin tour! The Edinburgh Gin Distillery has moved locations since we last went and we are excited to go back to see what has changed.
We happened upon the Tron Kirk Market while walking around and exploring the Royal Mile. Nestled in a former principal parish church on the Royal Mile, you'll find art/jewelry/coasters, etc. made by artists from all over Scotland! We highly recommend checking this out during your time here. You're sure to find some good finds!
Take a tour of Edinburgh Castle!
Take a leisurely stroll through Princes Street Gardens
Another must see!
Take a couple of tours or just get lost in the city on your own! Edinburgh is such a great place to explore and is so rich with history. It's also very walkable and very easy to get your bearings! Explore and have fun.
Take a bus tour/day trip to Inverness to see Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness. We had a phenomenal time on our tour! After viewing Urquhart Castle, we went on a boat ride through Loch Ness. If you're prepared/brave enough, you can allegedly take a dip in the loch. Definitely a must-see if you have time!
