Los Padrinos de Velación
The primary wedding godparents in Catholic tradition. Couples choose a married couple they admire — the godparents act as the couple's spiritual mentors and official marriage witnesses. The same godparents will also drape a Rosary lasso over the couple. The lasso physically connects the bride and groom, illustrating that they will face life’s challenges and celebrations together.
Los Padrinos de Arras
The godparents present the couple with a gift—coins and an ornate box. These items are then brought to the altar during the wedding mass, where they are blessed.
Madrina de Biblia
This is a reminder that the word of God will be the foundation and guide in the new family being formed.
Flores à la Virgen
The bride and groom walk together to the statue or altar of the Blessed Mother. The couple offer flowers and look to her to guide their home and keep Christ at the center of their marriage.
