Flight
Chicago has two airports. O'Hare is the larger of the two and an easy train ride into the city on the CTA Blue Line. It's about a 45 minute train ride, door to door, but requires a transfer to the green line that puts you right at our doorstep. Please let us know if further instruction is needed.
Flight
The smaller of the two airports in Chicago, Midway is the closer airport to our house and the hotel. The train is possible but a cab ride from this airport is probably the easiest. (The venue is halfway between the two airports.)
Hotel
Although there are many options available to you , The Marriott Marquis is a block away from our apartment and we would like to keep the small group of us together, near by, so we can spend our time together, with you. We have watched this hotel construct from the ground up. It still has that new hotel smell as it just opened in January. We have made special arrangements at this hotel for our wedding guests. You can book under our room block by clicking on the link below. If you have already made reservations, we ask that you please call the hotel and ask to be put on our room block so the hotel can keep track of our guests.
Travel Note
In addition to the public transportation here in the city, cabs and uber are readily available. Most cabs accept credit cards but every once in a while you'll find one that is cash only. It's a good idea to have some cash on hand in case that happens.
Train
Our apartment and hotel are located next to the green line stop at McCormick Place. This can easily get you in to the loop. To use the train or bus in the city, you can purchase a Ventra card ahead of time online or at the train station. This reloadable card works for the train and bus.
Travel Note
Parking in the city can be tricky. Please be aware that most hotels do have a parking deck but they charge a large fee for parking. Guest parking in our parking lot (at our apartment) is $12 a day. You can sign up through an app called ParqEx. There is also covered parking available next to our building, as well as, at The Lex, behind our building. Each is about $35/day. Street parking is also an option but many Chicago neighborhoods require a permit to park on the street. The Lincoln Park Conservatory has free street parking on the street that runs next to it but is sometimes a challenge since it is located next to the Zoo. Still confused or have questions. Call Justin. He's got a lot of city driving experience.
Hotel
This hotel is also a block away from our apartment. Consider staying here to be close to us! We will keep you updated but we’re in the process of trying to secure a room block here. Stay tuned!
