It all began on August 11, 2022 — a night that changed our lives in the most unexpected and beautiful way. Denise had just arrived in San Diego for a travel nursing assignment, not knowing that the city would soon become home for more reasons than one. After a month of settling in, she decided to branch out and make some new connections. So, she met up with another travel nurse for a night out, and their adventure eventually brought them to a little karaoke bar called Red Wing. That’s where she saw him — wearing what looked like a uniform shirt. Curious (and maybe a little bold), Denise walked up and asked what sport he played. Out of all the possible answers, he said... kickball. We laughed, we talked, we danced — and somehow, in the middle of a bar full of strangers, it felt like they’d known each other forever. They exchanged numbers and planned to hang out a few days later. But they couldn’t wait — the very next day, they were already grabbing pizza together and diving into conversation that felt so natural, so easy, and so full of promise. What they found was rare — something special neither of us could walk away from. After some honest and difficult conversations, Denise made the choice to stay in San Diego and see where this journey could take them. Now, a Miami girl and a San Diego native are preparing to say "I do." We’re so grateful our paths crossed when they did, and we can't wait to celebrate this next chapter with all the people who have supported and loved us along the way.
