It’s been almost 10 years since I looked into his eyes for the first time. I had actually had intentions of going for his cousin, but we both agreed that Dale was the right dog for us. – Kinsey’s cold open. It was in the early spring of 2013 when Kinsey and Matt met and started their journey together. As time went on, it got much less weird that Matt invited Kinsey to help pick out the next Szucs family dog only weeks after meeting. She was a senior, going off to Wake Forest soon, and Matt was a junior, with yet another year ahead of him before going… somewhere. Matt’s life up until Kinsey was centered entirely around soccer, and Wake Forest was a bit out of his league. Worth a shot, though, he thought. As fate would have it, a spot for him opened up on their roster late into his senior year. Having made it through the first few months of long distance, they couldn’t have been more thrilled to reunite as Demon Deacons. Things in college got shaky! They grew apart before growing closer together. It was in these times that Matt and Kinsey began to understand how valuable their relationship had become. With Kinsey in Spain and Matt opting out of his lifelong commitment to soccer, they explored new lives and adventured on only to find themselves back together, frolicking through life one day at a time, hand in hand. The next journey was living together. “That’s been a breeze!,” Matt says, as Kinsey stares into the abyss that is his laundry. The thing that really sets them apart is their ability to disagree with each other so consistently, while appreciating the differences that exist within their perspectives. Dating as teenagers, college students, young professionals, and roommates has given them plenty of opportunities to hone their skills when it comes to getting along, when it comes to handling life however it comes. And they do it together, as a team. With all that being said, they figured they’d seen enough and were ready to make a decision. And to Dale and Olly’s great surprise, this decision required none of the aforementioned honed skills. They’re getting married and they want to celebrate that with you. You have all played some role in their life. Be it small, large, from birth, or from last year, your role has shaped their lives in some way, and they want you to know how grateful they are for YOU. Come on down to Richmond and let’s have a ball!
