Our reception was amazing, and we're so grateful for everyone who was able to attend or send their good wishes. We are completely overcome with how much love we stuck in one house. Our appreciation is boundless, and we are so humbled by how many of our loved ones traveled to celebrate our marriage. Thank you. We love you.
Christian and Dawnthea are high school sweethearts, which you probably already know. But they didn't meet in school at all: They met at a taekwondo studio, where Christian was already near his first degree black belt, during freshman year. It would be ... generous to say they were fast friends, but circumstances kept throwing them together: Dawnthea and her sister joined a demonstration team at the studio (Christian was already on it), Christian lived on the same street as Dawnthea's best friend, and Christian had his drafting classes just down the hall from Dawnthea's core courses. Somehow, they became phone buddies as high school sophomores. Brief conversations about homework or video games turned into multi-hour dialogues about every topic under the sun. At one point, their taekwondo instructor even said, "You talk on the phone too much." Actually, so did their parents and friends. At last check, their record phone call time was 12 hours, give or take. In a completely unrelated sidenote, Verizon did not charge for hourslong roaming when in the same state as the account holder in 2008. Christian asked Dawnthea out with a text message during junior year.
