Our Story

Our story began long before we officially met. For about three months, we talked every day through a dating website, getting to know each other little by little. Then on August 10, 2021, we finally met in person for the first time. It wasn’t a traditional first date—there was no fancy dinner or big plans. Instead, we kept it simple. With our daughter asleep and no babysitter available, we decided to just spend the evening together watching a movie. Ironically, the movie he picked was a documentary about how coffins are made in another country—definitely not your typical romantic choice! At the time, it didn’t seem like much, but looking back now, it still makes us laugh. Somehow, even that unusual first date felt easy and natural, like we had already known each other for years. After that night, we kept finding reasons to spend more time together—quiet evenings talking, watching movies, and just enjoying each other’s company. One night, I brought over homemade popcorn, and he still jokes that the popcorn is what really won him over. Not long after, we shared one of our most special milestones—when I met our daughter for the first time. We spent the day together at our local apple orchard, visiting the petting zoo and making memories that would become the foundation of our little family. Two years later, he planned a day I’ll never forget. He took me to Traders Point Creamery, telling me we were finally going to take couple photos since we hadn’t done that before. As we walked through the garden vines, I had no idea that our families were gathering nearby, waiting to celebrate with us. He led me down to the dock overlooking the lake, and in a moment I’ll cherish forever, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was perfect—thoughtful, beautiful, and full of love. After the proposal, our journey turned into a whirlwind adventure. We followed our hearts out to Colorado, chasing mountain views, fresh air, and a slower, more natural way of living for our family. Not long after, we felt another pull—this time toward Florida, where new career dreams and opportunities were waiting for us. Life eventually brought us back to Indiana for family, but a piece of our hearts never left Florida. It’s a place that feels like home to us in a different way—full of possibility, sunshine, and the future we continue to dream about together. That’s why we’ve chosen to begin our next chapter there. We’re so excited to celebrate our wedding in Florida, surrounded by the people we love most, as we take this next step together and continue building the life we’ve always imagined.
