East Town Kitchen and Bar
Brunch + Lunch If you like chicken and waffles go here! Their southern style food is amazing. Plus it's only a couple blocks away from our hotel recommendations.
Swingin' Door Exchange
Lunch + Dinner This is truly a historical establishment. We love to hang out at the cozy bar and chat with the regulars. Plus the food is fantastic. It is also conveniently located underneath the Grain Exchange. (It's a very small space so you can expect a wait.)
La Merenda
Dinner If you are getting into town on Friday night come here for dinner. It's our favorite tapas spot and a great way to try a verity of food. We highly recommend making reservations a few days beforehand.
Camp Bar Third Ward
Cocktails Need a drink? Try here! We lived above Camp for a year and loved visiting for sports games and the homey atmosphere.
Lakefront Brewery
Drinks + Tour Phil enjoys beer. Lakefront makes really good beer. Phil highly recommends Lakefront.
Boswell Book Company
Shopping We can spend hours in this book shop on the north side. It's a good way to pass some time.
Antiques On Pierce
Shopping We love finding old things to put in our new home. This is a 4 story warehouse that has been converted to a huge antique shop.
MOD GEN - A Modern General Store
Shopping The Historic Third Ward - it's a great place to do a little shopping and some exploring. Mod Gen is one of our favorites in the area but visit others like Local MKE and MKE Home to find unique gifts.
