Our story began in an undergraduate research lab at Texas Tech University back in 2018, where we were both studying mosquitoes as viral vectors. What started as shared pipettes and data points soon grew into friendship, especially during those long days collecting mosquito traps around Lubbock parks (dust and bug bites included). Whether we were running experiments or laughing in the lab, something meaningful was starting to take shape. As time passed, we continued our studies and grew our family in 2019 by adopting our dog, Winston. Wyatt completed his master’s degree in 2020, while Amy finished her undergraduate studies. When Amy was accepted into a PhD program at Texas A&M in Houston, we took the next big step — moving together to a new city in August 2020, along with our energetic, slightly unhinged dog, Winston. We've called Houston home ever since, building a life filled with love, laughter, and late night Anime and snack binges. Over the past six years, we’ve grown not just in our careers, but together — and in July 2024, we made it official: we’re ready to take on forever, side by side.
