4-6 weeks in advance would be wonderful. But as long as you do it, we can't judge. We aren't always on top of it ourselves, and we don't like to be hypocrites.
A little before 3:30 because that's when it starts. If you're too early, you might be bored. If you're too late, you'll miss it. 3:15 would be okay. 3:20 would be fine too. There are a few miles of windy Ohio hills to drive through, ending with an awfully big hill you have to drive up. So maybe leave yourself some buffer time, especially if you're a cautious driver like Erin.
If your invite was addressed to you and to them (or to you and a guest), we hope you will! Generally, we included partners and children if we've both met them a time or two. If you have any questions, send one of us a text, and we can confirm the person you have in mind is included in the seating chart and the headcount we've provided to the venue and caterer.
We've invited a few kids of various ages, and we would love to see them there! (See the previous question.) We'll have some indoor and outdoor games for most of the evening, including some kids may enjoy. We'll do a bit of dancing too, but that probably won't start until 8:30 or 9:00pm. We'll have some wine and beer available throughout for the adults, but most people, including us, will be driving an hour home at the end of the night. So we're anticipating a kid friendly vibe for the duration of the reception.
After the big hill, you'll take a turn or two and drive past another building before you get to the venue. There's a big sort of grassy field with some gravel in it right across the road from it. You can park there. We think everybody should fit in the lot if people carpool in roughly the way we think they will and most of them park a normal distance apart. From there, the (weather permitting) outdoor ceremony site and the building where the reception will be should be visible. There's also a golf cart we can use if we need it, to avoid uneven terrain or stairs. We heard there's a lot for extra parking somewhere else. But we don't know where it is, and it may be a longer walk. So even more reason to include some buffer time in your plans - especially if you are the type of person who puts too much trust in Google Maps time estimates or the kind of person who is often late.
If you'll be in Columbus the following day (Saturday November 8th), we are thinking about a group outing to either Otherworld or CoSI. Somewhere kid friendly that will accommodate a pretty small wedding, but a pretty large group. If you're interested in doing something like that, let us know!
