2017 is the year we first met. We met at work, Preston was an RN and I was a CNA. For a very short time in our lives, he was my "superior," so glad that quickly changed ;) Preston tried many, many times to take me out on a date, but I was always so stubborn and found an excuse not to go. Finally, I was out of excuses and decided to take him up on his offer. I remember getting ready and tried to think of an excuse I hadn't used in order to bail. Thankfully, I couldn't come up with a viable excuse so I decided to suck it up and go on this date with him. Later in our relationship, Preston disclosed that he also thought about bailing that night. I think we both knew that this was our last opportunity and it was now or never. We went to FH Beerworks, not overly fancy, but somewhere we could talk and get to know each other better. I also thought that Preston would be impressed that I actually like beer (which I don't haha!). We spent several hours together then decided to call it a night, not sure if we'd ever go out again. We continue to talk daily but did not plan any more dates. A few weeks later Preston tells me he's home with a stomach bug. So of course I offered to bring him a Ginger Ale, Sprite, and Gatorade and spend the day with him. Months later, I found out that he did not actually have a stomach bug, but he was instead hungover. It was all a trap to lure me in, and it worked! I knew after that day, it was meant to be. Preston knew I had a daughter from a previous relationship, but that did not matter to him. He took on the dad role without any questions asked and gave Harley the father figure she's always deserved. December 2021 we brought our beautiful Charlotte in to world, so we now have two of the most sweet, loving, beautiful girls anyone could ask for. We have accomplished so much over the years and continue to grow as a couple every day. We've always had our ups and down but are always able to overcome them. I couldn't have chose a better life partner and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you! Preston; From the beginning, Elizabeth has always been an inspiration to me. She has a, rare high level of integrity. She has inspired me to always do the right thing, to not take life too seriously & live it for the adventure that it is. And most importantly she has inspired me to be a better person. Elizabeth is the consummate example of a devoted mother. Her parenting style, how much she loves our children and how she makes it look so easy, inspires me everyday to be a better father. In our romantic relationship, Elizabeth has been, is and will always be the woman of my dreams. The way we laugh, take care of each other and behave in silly ways together truly fills my heart with joy. And it takes someone with an incredible heart to have tolerated me on my difficult days. How much she loves, how easy she forgets and how she has always supported my goals is truly something special and one of the many reasons I love her. She inspires me to always find a better version of me, and to be the best version of myself. Elizabeth leaves me at a loss for words, & I owe it to her to never quit working on the best we can be and the version of myself I can be. We have fought side by side through many challenges and, are certainly due for smooth sailing ahead. Whatever life becomes, we will adventure through it together. And, Boo, I promise there will be many more frequent back massages in your future! Because I also, can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you. <3
