In 2018, Brooke and Preston met at Cookie Dope, the dessert shop Preston owned in West Chester. Brooke’s roommate, Karly, knew about Cookie Dope when it first opened because her dad helped renovate it. After Brooke mentioned the “cute guy who owned the shop,” Karly decided a little matchmaking was in order. One night, all the roommates made a “casual” trip to get dessert at Cookie Dope. This was supposed to be the spark—but after an awkward 30 minutes of small talk and cookie dough, Brooke and her roommates left with barely a word exchanged between her and Preston. Later that night, Preston worked up the courage to message Brooke on Instagram—and from that moment, their story began. Together they’ve built a life through COVID, Brooke’s graduation, moving in together in West Chester, adopting their dog, the sale of Cookie Dope, and new adventures in their careers.
