Midland International Air & Space Port (MAF) is the closest major airport to Marathon, approximately a 2.5-hour drive away. Several rental car companies are available at MAF, including Enterprise, Budget, Alamo, National, Avis, and Hertz. We highly recommend reserving your rental car as far in advance as possible!
Travel Note
Approximate drive times from cities across Texas: Houston to Marathon (~7.5 hours) Midland to Marathon (~2.5 hours) Del Rio to Marathon (~2.5 hours) San Antonio to Marathon (~5 hours) Austin to Marathon (~5.5 hours) Dallas to Marathon (~7 hours) Cell service can be spotty as you get closer to Marathon, but don't panic, it resumes once you're in town! We also recommend filling up on gas whenever you can, as gas stations become few and far between along the way.
