How We Met

7.2013

In the summer of our 9th grade year, we both attended an FFA leadership camp called SGLC. Neither one of us talked to each other but learned of the other. Fast forward a few years when we were both serving as regional officers, we finally talked and had a proper introduction to the other in the summer of our senior year. We swapped snap chats but we just left it at that. We didn't talk for 9 years after that.

Reconnecting

6.2022

In the early summer of 2022, after Cole got back from a 3-week work trip, he had reached out and asked to catch up with each other. We met up for a dinner and immediately hit it off. All of a sudden, we were catching up every day.

The First Date

6.2022

A week after reconnecting, we went to a friends birthday party together. Once we both got home after the birthday party, Cole popped the first important question, "Do you want to go out on a date?" We started off at Thunder Road to do the traditional first date - mini-golfing. Cole likes to tell everyone he won, but there's no official record of it since Presley was in charge of keeping score. After the so-called "butt whopping", we went to eat at Kroll's diner. It's a diner that has been stuck in time since the 50's. We, of course, had burgers and a shake.

Life Together

We have been pretty inseparable ever since, doing almost everything together. One of the first things was taking Presley's dog, JoJo, on a hike at Buffalo River State Park on the hottest day of the summer. Cole likes to call it the Bataan Death March. (This is important, we promise). Things were steadily getting more serious and eventually, in February of 2023, we moved in together and made our first home out of a townhome in Moorhead, MN. JoJo came with us on this move and we became an untraditional family. On Easter of 2023, right after dinner, we made the very spontaneous decision to pack our bags and head out to Billings, Montana to pick up a puppy. When we say "spontaneous", we mean it was 30 minutes from the time we saw the advertisement, to the time we were in the truck on our way out there. It was all worth it because at the end of the next day, we were home with both JoJo and the new puppy, Cedar. Our life since has been mostly focused around our pups. Taking them on long walks seem to be the time we get to connect most. We take them out to Buffalo River State Park as often as we can to get them out of the city.

The Proposal

7.2023

Saturday, July 22nd started out as any other day for us. We made breakfast, and had plans to go out to Buffalo River State Park to walk the dogs. It was a perfect, sunny day. When we got there, we decided on the normal trail we usually do (against Presley's original hopes). When we got to the bridge, Cole had stopped and started his proposal. It was a perfect proposal. The pups got to be there and it was a very intimate moment. Luckily, Cole had planned ahead and his cousin's wife, Holly, was there to capture the amazing moment.
