Average day time temperatures will be in the mid sixties with evening temperatures in the mid fifties. Winter in New Orleans isn’t too cold, but it’s always good to play it safe! The best advice is to pack with layering in mind. Temperatures can fluctuate in the course of the day – and you’ll definitely want a jacket that can keep the occasional rain shower at bay.
We are providing shuttle transport for all guests both to and from the wedding. The shuttle to the church will be departing from the Loews hotel at 1:30 pm. The shuttle will make continued loops from the hotel to the Church until we reach the ceremony start time of 3 pm. Please be aware that there are Mardi Gras parades going on that afternoon, so we cannot guarantee how many trips will be made due to traffic and road closures. If you are unable to make the shuttle, or traveling from another location, Uber and Lyft are regularly available in the area as well. After the ceremony it is a quick 5 minute walk from the Church to our reception venue, Il Mercato. Return shuttles will be offered at 8, 9 and 10 pm for guests from the reception venue (Il Mercato) back to the Loews hotel.
The dress code for our wedding is formal. We suggest that men wear a suit in any color and women wear a cocktail dress or dressy separates.
We understand that many of our guests will be traveling from out of town to join us for our special day. To ensure your comfort, we've arranged room blocks at several nearby hotels. You can find more information on accommodations, including booking codes and special rates, on our website's "Travel & Lodging" page. There are also tons of great AirBnb Options in the area. Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance or recommendations!
Outside of our wedding ceremony attendants, we have opted for an adults-only affair to allow everyone to relax and enjoy the celebration. We hope you understand our decision and can arrange childcare for the evening. If you have any concerns or special circumstances, please don't hesitate to contact us directly to discuss further.
Due to space restrictions we cannot accommodate additional guests. Your invitation will state how many seats we have reserved in your honor.
We kindly request a technology-free ceremony to allow everyone to be fully present and immersed in the Mass. Our professional photographer will be capturing all the highlights, and we'll share the photos with you afterwards. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in creating a distraction-free environment for our ceremony.
Our Nuptial Mass will begin at 3 pm and last for about one hour. Our cocktail hour and reception will begin at the reception venue, Il Mercato, at 5 pm. During this time gap there is a beautiful courtyard at the Church to take photos and the walk to the reception venue is filled with brightly colored houses and murals that are great for photo back drops. Il Mercato is located in the heart of the garden district, so you can also find many bars on the street right outside if you'd like to enjoy a cocktail while you wait and get the party started early! Up for a sweet treat? One of our favorite ice cream shops, The Parish Parlor, is also located directly across the street from Il Mercato as well.
