Downtown Summit

Spring field Avenue, Summit, New Jersey 07901

The center of town is charming and walkable, with a village green across the tracks from its busy train station. Lined with shops, a multiplex and a growing variety of restaurants, Springfield Avenue is the main commercial street. Summit Avenue runs north from the center of town; a cluster of apartment buildings is within walking distance of the train station, with larger homes farther from the center.

Reeves Reed Arboretum

A popular wedding spot, the arboretum grounds are open daily from dawn till dusk, free of charge. Only 5 minutes drive from the Grand Summit Hotel and the Salter's house.

Where to shop?

For women’s clothes there’s Willow St., an indie boutique with a clever mix of brands and prices that appeal to multiple generations. Also try the trendy Femmebot; the boutique’s owner, Tina Setia, is a protégé of costume designer Patricia Field of Sex & the City fame. (The original location is in Ridgewood.). Lululemon is also a popular choice. For men, John Hyatt offers an artfully curated selection of shirts, pants, sweaters and outerwear. For antiques and home décor, visit Great House.
