Aiburobhaat is a traditional Bengali “last meal” before marriage, where the bride or groom is pampered with their favorite dishes by family. It’s an intimate, pre-wedding celebration with lots of love (and food)!
The Mehendi ceremony is when the bride gets beautiful henna designs on her hands and feet, while guests often join in too. The Sangeet is our musical night—expect dance performances, singing, fun games, and lots of energy. It’s our party night before the big day!
Gaye Holud means “turmeric on the body.” It’s a fun and colorful ceremony where family and friends apply turmeric paste to the bride/groom to bless them with good luck and glowing skin. Think yellow outfits, flower jewelry, and lots of laughs!
Our wedding will follow Bengali traditions, including the garland exchange, sacred fire rituals, and sindoor daan (applying vermillion). It’s a mix of cultural heritage and celebration—and we can’t wait to share it with you!
We encourage you to wear traditional or festive Indian attire. - Mehendi/Sangeet: Bright, fun colors (lehenga, saree, kurta, etc.) - Gaye Holud: Yellow or pastel tones - Wedding: Traditional/formal ethnic wear Shopping in the US?
