Brooklyn Botanic Garden
We are members of the Garden and regard it as one of our most beloved sanctuaries in the city. Preesa's birthday falls during the Cherry Blossom Festival in April and we have a tradition of coming here to celebrate.
Governors Island
Governor's Island offers the perfect in-city day trip. No residents, no cars, no stores - just views. We come here for summer art festivals, easter egg hunts, fall fun days, ice skating and picnics with friends. With year round art, excellent food, smartly landscaped parklands, the Q Spa and Collective Retreats - it's an incredible city amenity packed with history and intrigue! We've been coming here as a favorite place for 15 years. Long before it was home to the longest slide in NYC! (hint hint to the families with little ones)
Don Tequila Urban Cantina
This is our local Mexican spot! The staff is part of the family and the margaritas are the strongest in Queens!
Neir's Tavern
Neir's dates back to 1829 and is (arguably) the oldest bar in New York City. It also happens to be our neighborhood pub. The pretzel bites and sweet potato fries are a 10 out of 10 and the beer is always cold!
Klong
We ate here A LOT throughout our early years in New York. In fact you have likely eaten here with us! Klong is in the heart of Saint Marks and offers an authentic and delicious East Village experience.
The Moonlight Mile
The Moonlight Mile boasts an unrivaled bourbon selection and was our go to Greenpoint watering hole. Here we dreamed big and created the foundation for our right-now. Ask for Gary and tell him hi from Preesa and Michael.
The High Line
The High Line lives up to the hype: A remarkable piece of urban reinvention in a city famous for reinventing itself. We have watched the High Line grow up, and have grown up right along with it. Preesa and I designed the "Haunted Highline Halloween" festival back in 2015 & again in 2016 which was a formative time in our creative careers and cemented the park as a a mutual favorite.
Hadestown
This is our resounding recommendation for an all ages Broadway must-see.
