Drake & Precious' Proposal
Drake and I first crossed paths at the unforgettable Christian Hlub Conference in 2016. While we don’t remember the exact moment we met, we both knew we’d made an impression on each other. On the final day, as everyone was getting ready to leave the campus, I stepped off the bus to fill my water bottle. As I was about to get back on, I noticed Drake walking by, so I said, "Bye, Drake! I hope you get home safely." Like many other Hlub attendees, we started connecting online—friending each other on Facebook, following each other on Instagram. From there, Drake asked for my Snapchat, and we quickly built up a streak. Our close cousins, Kimberlee (my cousin) and Jonathan (his cousin), were in a group chat with us, and we all chatted pretty often. At one point, Kimberlee asked Drake if he liked me, and he said no, though Kimberlee had a feeling he did. She then asked me if I liked Drake, to which I admitted I did. But when I asked her if he liked me, she said no. So, I decided to let go of my feelings for Drake and saw him just as a friend. A week later, Drake messaged me saying he urgently needed to tell me something. I didn’t think much of it, assuming it wasn’t a confession. But when I checked my phone, I saw a message from Drake saying, "I like you." I was completely confused and insisted we call so I could hear it from him directly—plus, I wanted to see if he was smiling. When we called, Drake admitted that he really did like me, and from that moment on, things changed. We started dating at a very young age, and like any couple, we went through our share of struggles. We had a lot to learn, not just about each other, but about ourselves. But through all the challenges, we came to realize that the love we shared was always there, growing stronger over time. On September 13th, 2024, we tied the knot—marking the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. And now, we’re looking forward to our wedding on August 2nd, 2025, ready to start this next adventure together!
