It was late July of 2014 when Sarah and I first met at Schafer's in Port Jeff. It was a funny night, as afterwards we both admitted that neither of us had gone out much that entire summer. I certainly wasn't expecting to meet someone that night, which she also claimed, so there was no hesitation to be found when I took a chance on the dance floor with perhaps the cheesiest, most character defining dance stunt that was, unbeknownst to even myself, hidden within my repertoire: The Invisible Lasso. I can only trust her when Sarah explained why she chose to let herself be taken in by this invisible and completely ignorable pretend rope, “It was so nerdy and cute I knew you weren't a jerk.” We lost ourselves in the night until she left me with her number, which I swore to call the very next day. I didn't. But the day after we made plans for our first date. Our lives evolved beside one another. First came our apartment, where we learned what we were good and so very bad at. Luckily, things turned out just fine Next, we adopted Sadie, our beloved Mini Australian Shepherd pup. Before we realized it, the three of us were a family—minus one important detail. We went away on a cruise together, and although I played it coy I had a feeling she was very aware of what was going to happen next, probably because I forgot her ring size and asked her only a month before. Well hey, she said yes and our ship didn’t hit any icebergs, so overall I’d call it a successful voyage! This is only the beginning of our story, but I could write forever. We're excited to share our next adventure with you all!
