Our Story

One for the [Modern] Ages

When people ask how we met, the answer is just one word: Hinge! We met online and connected over all the important stuff right away- showing up early to everything, and our shared love of creating lists. When we finally met on our first date, we both felt a spark. The rest is history! From countless dinner and brunch dates, to walking the aisles of Barnes & Noble after eating cheesecake, to getting caught in the rain on a hot summer day as we ran back to the car. We fell in love more and more. We can't wait to celebrate our special day with everyone!

The Proposal (Prathyusha)

"You should get your nails done..."

Every woman knows she MUST get her nails done for the proposal. Usually a guy drops some hints to make sure his future fiancée looks amazing for the pictures. Akash took a much more direct approach. Not only did he tell me to get my nails done, but he even told me to get them painted a "bright color." I knew something was up. What guy tells his girlfriend specifically what color to get her nails done...this was it! But I didn't want to make any assumptions, so I played it cool. That Saturday morning I was the very first customer at the nail salon. I asked Akash when I should meet up with him, expecting him to say "whenever you want." Instead, he told me not to come over until after 4:30 because he had several errands to run. I finished getting my nails done (a very dark color, might I add). I did not hear from him very much for the rest of the day. At this point, I thought the proposal was a no-go. But I still wanted to see him, so I drove over. To add insult to injury, Akash asked me to buy some milk for him on the way over. Now I was just mad; he told me he had been running errands earlier that day, but forgot milk? I parked my car outside Akash's apartment, where he greeted me with a huge grin. Milk in hand, I begrudgingly walked up the stairs to his apartment. I swung open the door, and froze in my tracks. The lights were dimmed, there were pink streamers and balloons everywhere, along with blue candle lights. On the floor, blue flower petals spelled out a question: Marry Me? Of course, I said yes. And here we are!
