You may be wondering why we changed our date to EARLIER in the midst of a pandemic. After learning that schools will start earlier than originally planned with teacher workdays now starting on August 6, we wanted to have some time to actually be married and honeymoon before jumping into whatever pandemic schooling will look like! We are also just really excited to get married! We have also made the incredibly difficult decision to limit our guests. As much as we want all of our friends and family there to celebrate with us, we want to be safe and follow state and local guidelines on large gatherings. Although we do not know what will be permissible by law on July 26, we know that mass gatherings are high risk for the spread of COVID-19. We appreciate your understanding, prayers, and love as we have come to this decision and hope you will be able to join us for the live stream of our ceremony if you are not able to be there with us in person! We will have more updates and details about how that will work as the date approaches!

Our story is a classic and traditional tale of swiping right. :) After some initial messaging, we met for our first date at Smelly Cat Coffee on a chilly winter afternoon, where Jessica learned much to her dismay that Ken does not even like coffee. At first sight, Jessica thought the date might be awkward and Ken was tired after getting off a residency shift of working nights, but conversation was easy. We stupidly laughed at trying to guess the ages and stories of other people in the shop. We learned that we had both lived overseas, are kind of weird humans, and love Jesus. We both had enough fun that we decided to go on a few more dates and ... eventually get married.
