We met through mutual family and agreed to meet for one date in New York City. Cocktails turned into hours of wandering and talking. Architha thought Prateek was shy and cute. Prateek thought Architha was adorable. He texted first (with a strong opening move!). For the second date, Architha flew to Austin. Somewhere between swimming in Lake Travis, it started feeling from "this is nice" to "oh..this might be something". Long distance meant flights between NYC, Austin, and sometimes DC, but we bonded over food, AMC stubs, and planning our next visit before the current one ended. Architha knew he was the one when Justice, her friend's Bichon that she is extremely close to, approved of Prateek immediately. Prateek knew when Architha cooked for him, and it felt less like a date and more like home. After two and a half years of cities, great food, movies, and a lot of airport hugs, Prateek proposed. Turns out, it was never just one date.
