The Prashers

Abby and Sam’s story actually began long before either of them realized it. They first met playing T-ball when they were just five years old. Years later, when Abby was 15 and Sam was 16, they reconnected through a mutual friend. What started as simply hanging out quickly turned into something more as they spent months getting to know each other and building a friendship (even though they both had crushes on each other the whole time). On February 1, 2020, Sam officially asked Abby to be his girlfriend, and their story really began. Throughout high school, they spent their days going to school dances, playing tennis, cheering each other on at sporting events, and making countless memories together. Some of their favorite moments were spent at the cabin—jet skiing, surfing, and enjoying all their favorite summer activities. The cabin has become a special place for both of them, filled with memories and time spent together. One of the things Abby and Sam cherish most is that they were able to grow up side by side. They experienced high school together and eventually both ended up attending University of St. Thomas. While in college, they got involved with a Christian ministry called Campus Outreach, which has helped them grow not only in their relationship with each other but also in their relationship with the Lord. Through it, they’ve also been blessed with incredible friendships and mentors who have meant so much to them. They have learned what it means to love selflessly, pursue faith intentionally, and build a relationship centered on Him. After years of growing up together, Sam knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Abby. On Tuesday, February 24th, Abby thought they were meeting Sam’s cousins for dinner in White Bear Lake. While they were waiting for them to arrive, Sam suggested they take a short walk. When they reached the end of a dock overlooking White Bear Lake, Sam got down on one knee and asked Abby to marry him. She said yes! After the proposal, they headed to one of their favorite spots in White Bear Lake for dinner, where they celebrated together and Abby got to hear all about the planning that went into the surprise. Later that evening, they returned to Abby’s house, where she was surprised again—this time by a celebration with some of her friends and family. It was the perfect ending to the best night. We feel so blessed to have walked through high school together, college together and now the rest of our lives! The Lord is so good!! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with all of you!
