We recommend Indian traditional wear that you can comfortably dance in for this lively event! For Women: Traditional options like chanya cholis or lehengas are perfect, but anarkalis or pre-draped saris that allow movement are also great choices. For Men: A classic kurta is a great option for the occasion. While traditional wear is recommended, we'd love to see you however you're most comfortable! For American attire, semi-formal dresses or skirts for women and button-down shirts with slacks for men would work as well. The key is to wear something you can dance in and enjoy the evening. If you're wondering where to shop for Indian outfits, check out the answer in the "Where to shop for Indian attire?" FAQ.
Please avoid white, beige, and ivory-like colors, if possible. For Indian attire: Traditional Indian wear or Indo-Western outfits are perfect for the ceremony. For American attire: Suits or slacks with a jacket for men and formal dresses for women are a great choice. Please note the wedding ceremony will be held outdoors, and weather in Georgia at this time is unpredictable. We recommend dressing in layers (shawls, wraps, jackets) to stay comfortable throughout the event.
The dress code is formal or black tie optional: For women - Indian reception/formal wear; American floor-length gowns, elegant cocktail dresses or dressy separates. For men - Tuxedos or formal suits.
If you're looking for Indian attire, here are some great options: Online: Trusted U.S. based online stores include Kynah, Lashkaraa, Verve & Vogue, holiCHIC, and Ladlee (also has a physical location in Atlanta-area). India based online stores that reliably ship to the U.S. include Pernia's Pop Up, Aza Fashions, Indya, and Kalki. If ordering online, be sure to consider shipping times and the store's return/exchange policies. In Person: South Asian neighborhoods in places like Atlanta, GA, Edison, NJ, and Houston, TX, have several options to shop in-person, with a variety of Indian attire. American Department Stores: Nordstrom has started to carry Indo-Western and traditional Indian-inspired clothing as well. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the bride directly.
Yes! We’re excited to share some meaningful traditions with you. Garba is a Gujurati folk dance performed in a circle, often during the Hindu festival of Navaratri. Garba is also performed before weddings as a way to invite the divine to the wedding festivities to bless and protect the union of the couple. It is a lively and fun dance, and we invite all guests to join in when it begins. No experience needed—just come ready to enjoy the music and the celebration! For the Indian Wedding Ceremony, guests are invited to participate in certain parts of the ritual. We will provide pamphlets to help guide you through the ceremony, so you can feel comfortable joining in where appropriate. Your presence and participation will make the day even more special!
We love that you want to capture these special moments! While we welcome you to take photos throughout the day, there will be certain moments when photography will be restricted. These times will be announced, and we kindly ask for your cooperation in respecting those moments. Thank you for understanding!
You can RSVP through the dedicated section on our wedding website. Simply enter your name in the search field. If you have any trouble finding your RSVP, please don't hesitate to reach out to either the bride or groom, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
We’re so glad you’re planning to attend! Due to the limited space and our carefully curated guest list, we are only able to accommodate those who were specifically invited. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you!
We do not have a formal gift registry. Your presence at our celebration is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you wish to contribute, we kindly ask that you avoid boxed gifts.
If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to the bride, groom, or a member of their immediate family. We’re happy to help and want to ensure you have all the information you need to enjoy the celebration!
