Our wedding is a traditional Telugu ceremony with a series of meaningful rituals performed under a decorated canopy (mandap). It’s a vibrant and cultural experience — guests are welcome to observe, move around, and enjoy the celebration. Don’t worry if you don’t understand everything — just soak it all in!
The ceremony begins at 8:00 AM, and guests are welcome to arrive at any time. We recommend arriving by 9:30 AM to comfortably witness the most important moment of the ceremony. Trust us — 10:00 AM is the moment you don’t want to miss.
Subha Muhurtham is the most auspicious moment of the wedding when the couple officially gets married. Ours will take place at 10:00 AM.
Our ceremony includes several traditional rituals that symbolize love, unity, and blessings. Here are some key moments and when they typically happen: 🌿 Jeelakarra Bellam (Cumin & Jaggery Ritual) — at 10:00 AM The couple places a mixture of cumin and jaggery on each other’s heads, symbolizing staying together through life’s sweet and bitter moments. This takes place at the auspicious wedding time (muhurtam) and is the most important moment of the ceremony. The “we’re in this together — no matter what” moment. 💍 Mangalsutra Tying (Sacred Wedding Necklace) — shortly after The groom ties a sacred necklace around the bride’s neck, marking their marital bond. This is the moment most guests recognize as the couple becoming officially married. The closest thing to “you may now kiss the bride”… just our version 🌾 Thalambhralu (Rice Blessing Ritual) — around 10:30 AM The couple playfully showers each other with rice for prosperity and happiness. Also known as the first playful competition of married life
Not at all! Feel free to come and go as your schedule allows. You’re welcome to stay for as long as you’d like. Stay for the moments, food, or both — we won’t judge 😁
