From the very first date, it was easy to feel the connection. Ben brought thoughtful gifts from Hawaii, small tokens that made a big impression. Hannah was so nervous she could barely think of anything interesting to say. All she could wonder was how someone like him found her interesting at all. They played a game of pool, and Hannah went easy on him, of course. That night marked the beginning of so many wonderful memories together. And three years later, she still has those Hawaii gifts tucked away as a reminder of how it all began.
We’ve been together for three years now, and somewhere along the way, we decided to adopt our cat, Sunshine. At the Entangled Cat Café, Ben saw her curled up on a ledge, shy and unsure. He walked straight over, picked her up, and she started purring and making biscuits in his arms. That was it. She came home with us and has been our little joy ever since. We love making pizzas together, playing video games, and taking trips to the coast or the mountains when we need a break. One of our favorite spots is Little Italy, a place that’s been special to Ben and his family for years. It’s become one of ours too, full of good food and even better memories.
They took a weekend trip to visit the Atlanta zoo and botanical garden, something they’d been looking forward to for a while. The weather was warm, and Ben wore a thick jacket the entire time. Hannah noticed, but didn’t think much of it. At the botanical garden, Hannah wanted to start with the orchid display, but Ben was set on going to the other side of the park. He seemed nervous and wasn’t speaking clearly, which was unusual for him. She figured he was just tired or distracted. Eventually, they reached a quiet spot under a cluster of tall, shaded trees that looked like they belonged in a fairy tale. Ben stopped, reached into his jacket, and pulled out a small box. That’s when Hannah realized what was going on. He asked her to marry him, and she said yes. It was simple, thoughtful, and exactly right.
