We're working extremely hard to make sure ALL of our guests are able to enjoy our wedding in a safe way. In order to keep all of our guests safe, and not turn our wedding into a super spreader event, we strongly encourage everyone to get vaccinated if they are able to. If you choose not to vaccinate, or are unable to, we won't withdraw your invitation, but we will ask that you remain masked per the CDC guidelines to help us protect our immunocompromised guests. Some additional precautions we're considering: - Color/wristband system to indicate comfort with mask use and social distancing preferences -Separate seating for those who would like to take all precautions (no access to dance floor, fully masked, separate from other guests, etc) -Live feed of the ceremony for those who are uncomfortable attending We understand that this is a difficult situation to navigate. Everyone's comfort levels are different, and while we will be taking precautions in accordance with CDC guidelines, we completely understand whatever decisions you make. If you have any suggestions to make you feel more comfortable please let us know!
It was first semester of freshman year, Luis and Daniela had one class together. Daniela sat behind Luis and he passed her papers. Daniela thought he was cute. Fast forward to second semester of freshman year. They had another class together, and recognized each other, so they teamed up on a few projects. Daniela was incredibly impressed by the fact that someone else was willing and able to do half of the project, and she wasn't stuck doing the whole thing herself. Daniela liked Luis. Luis liked Daniela. Neither of them did anything about it. They were young and dumb. Then, one magical night during the first semester of Sophomore year. Luis got drunk at a frat party, and on a whim, decided to invite this cute girl from freshman year to play Words with Friends. The rest is history. They've never been more thankful for frat parties and dumb Facebook games.
COVID-19, SCHMOVID-19 They were supposed to get engaged on a trip to Key Largo, but the pandemic thwarted those plans. Daniela was pretty bummed, but thankfully Luis had an idea. They took time off from work to be together, put up a makeshift green-screen in the dining room, rigged a phone stand out of a chair, three books, some cardboard, a wooden dowel, and a ruler, and snapped some vacation pics. Luis taught himself to use photo and video editing software in order to give Daniela an unforgettable engagement. The result was a video so beautiful, so undeniably theirs, that they would not have had it any other way. While we honor and value our heritage and the history behind our last names, we see our wedding as the first day of our lives as a new family, and with a new family comes a new family name. That new family name will be Powter-Sanchez.
