Surfing is one of our most favorite activities when coming to Oahu. The island has hundreds of different breaks that suit all levels from beginner to intermediate and advanced. This is a great place to take lessons if you're interested in learning for the first time.
Of course this is one of the best things to do while visiting Oahu! Here are some of our favorite beaches: North shore - Sunset Beach, Sharks cove, Haleiwa, Lanikea Beach, Banzai Pipeline, Waimea Bay Beach Park Waikiki side - Waikiki Beach, Ala Moana Beach Park Hawaii Kai side - Sandy Beach Kailua side - Lanikai Beach, Kailua beach, Waimanelo Beach Park, Sherwood Beach
This is a beautiful hike that is really easy and paved, but has insane views! You can see whales during the winter months and can even go down to the tide pools at low tide which is really awesome.
There are countless amazing golf courses on Oahu. The Royal Hawaiian Golf Club is the most beautiful and challenging course that Gary has ever played. We also love Turtle Bay for the gorgeous ocean views while you play.
This moderate hike is relatively short but steep and unpaved. The effort is well worth it, as the views at the top are absolutely breathtaking.
Climb Diamond Head and see the great views of Waikiki, downtown and the beautiful ocean. It's a fairly easy "hike"--it's more of a gradual uphill walk. If you're feeling up for it, you can wake up early and watch the sunrise from the top!
Hanauma is a protected bay located along the southeast coast of the island. It is known for the abundance of marine life and green sea turtles. There are a limited number of reservations per day so be sure to plan ahead. Don't forget your reef safe sunscreen!
Don't worry, this isn't a place for sharks! This protected cove boasts beautiful marine life and calm waters to snorkel. If you don't like to snorkel, there is a beautiful beach that is perfect for sunbathing or relaxing.
