Scott's Addition is a district in the City of Richmond with a fun collection of breweries, cideries, restaurants, and barcades. It is home to some of our favorite places including the Veil, Starr Hill, Circuit, Peter Chang, and Gelati Celesti. Also located in Scott's Addition is Ardent, one of our all-time favorite breweries and the location of our first date :)
Belle Isle is one of Teaka's (and our!) favorite spots in the city. At the heart of the James River Park System, Belle Isle is accessed by a super cool pedestrian suspension bridge under the Lee Bridge. It is a great place for strolling, biking, and learning about the fascinating history of the site.
Come visit the Northside of Richmond and stop by Hobnob, a cozy neighborhood restaurant that's great for lunch or dinner. Their takeout was a regular staple for John and I during covid. Try the shrimp and grits. It's delicious. Their fried chicken is also amazing.
Maymont is a 100-acre historic estate and park located in the city. It is such a unique place with so many different things to do. You can stroll through the gardens, visit the Children's Farm and native animal habitats, explore the Nature Center, or tour the historic Mansion. If the weather is nice, it is a great place to take a picnic lunch and enjoy the day.
Hardywood has become a staple of the brewery scene in Richmond. They now have two locations, one near Scott's Addition and one out west in an area called West Creek. So whether you are staying downtown or at Fine Creek, you won't be far from a fun brewery experience.
