We're getting married!

Tori and Garrett first met in 2010 when they were both in a computer science class at Mill Creek High School. Tori was an incoming freshman and Garrett was a senior. Garrett had his eyes set on another girl in the class, according to Tori but this differs depending on who you ask! Garrett and Tori continued to have mutual friends and dated on and off over the next couple of years. In 2013, Garrett asked Tori on an official date and they have been together ever since!

After COVID-19 changed the original summer plans, a combined Powell & English family trip to Seaside, Florida was scheduled for July 2020. Garrett decided this was the perfect time to propose to Tori! Garrett enlisted the help of Tori's mom and together they schemed all the proposal details, as well as a custom-designed engagement ring. Under the ruse of taking family pictures before dinner, Tori headed down the beach to find the perfect spot. Suddenly Garrett tapped Tori on the shoulder and said, "Hey look at this shell." He flipped the shell over and it said "Marry me?" and the words "Forever & Always" ... a little phrase Tori & Garrett always say to each other. Tori was completely surprised and immediately yelled out "Noooo!" in utter shock! To complete her unconventional response, Tori grabbed the ring from Garrett and placed it on her own finger! She has been admiring it every day since.
