For those who don't know, Rebecca and Jeff met in 2005 at Thurston High School in Redford. No, they weren't Star Crossed Lover's, (regardless of what Jeff says) they had their own social circles but remained friends all through High School and reconnected after Rebecca returned home to Michigan after serving in the Marine Corps. They reconnected and after that it was like they had never been apart their entire life. They spent practically everyday together and finally got the approval from Rebecca's daughter Kaycee to marry her mom. Of course, without any doubts, Rebecca said YES! We look forward to having you celebrate our love and commitment in a ceremony and reception at the Historic Wellers Carriage House in Saline, MI.
Located on the banks of the Saline River and now on the National Historic Register Wellers Wedding Venue is a previously a mill and dam owned and ran by none other than Henry Ford. Henry Ford came to the small rural village of Saline to restore the dilapidated Schuyler flour mill. Ford the unique vision: to merge urban factories with rural farming of soybeans and paid over 700 farmers in the Saline area to grow them. The farmers then trucked their crops here to be refined into soybean oil for the production of plastics and paints for auto manufacturing. This simple idea forever changed the face of industry and farming. Ford was drawn here because of its location on a river. He produced electricity by diverting the river to create a dam-millpond, and installed a waterwheel. Engineers still marvel at the beauty of Ford's futuristic dream and he is known throughout the industrial world for his innovative use of organic products in industry.
