It all started with a simple swipe. Our connection started online, but it quickly became clear that there was something special about what we shared. Our conversations were full of warmth and curiosity, and before we knew it, we were making plans to meet in person. Our first date was simple yet unforgettable: we met for dinner, excited but a little nervous, unsure of what to expect. We started with casual conversation, but it didn’t take long for the sparks to fly. We quickly found ourselves talking about everything—our dreams, our favorite memories, and the little things that made us laugh. As the dinner rush came and went, we stayed lost in conversation, not noticing the time fly by. The noise of the restaurant faded into the background as we connected on a deeper level. Hours passed without us even realizing it, and by the time we said goodnight, we both knew this wasn’t just a one-time thing.

We set out for a hike to Copperas Falls while vacationing in Kentucky, eager for a day of adventure together. The trail was peaceful and surrounded by the beauty of nature. We spent our time chatting as we meandered back and forth across the stream leading to the falls. Shortly before we reached the falls, a kind hiker passing by warned us of a copperhead that was sunbathing near the end of the trail (For those of you who may not know- Bri is absolutely terrified of snakes). As Bri recovered from her snake-induced panic attack, Taylor sat nervously with a ring in his pocket, hoping he could help calm her down enough to pop the big question. After a small picnic lunch, giving nerves time to settle, Taylor went to ask a nearby couple to take a photo of us beneath the waterfall. Unbeknownst to Bri, he had asked them to video the interaction as he planned on proposing. As he dropped to one knee, Bri was overcome with emotion. She nodded through her tears, her fear of snakes momentarily forgotten. When Taylor looked down to put the ring on her finger, he was shocked to see an empty box. Looking up, he noticed that she had already stolen the ring and put it on herself. And just like that, Copperas Falls went from a beautiful destination to the place where our forever began.
