Hatcher Pass Lodge
Hatcher Pass is just a beautiful place to explore if you are looking to get out into nature. Most hikes are good day hikes, Reed Lakes is a big favorite of ours!
Matanuska Glacier State Recreation Site
This one is a bit pricey it is $160 per adult and $40 per child under 14. It is a tour that last a few hours of getting to explore the glacier & is just a neat thing to do if it is your first time exploring Alaska.
Anchorage Museum

Spencer Glacier
This is a quick train ride and short easy hike to Spencer Glacier. It runs about $100 per adult and prices range for kids depending on age. You will want to travel a little south of anchorage to get on the train at the Portage Train Stop to get to the Spencer Whistle Stop. After the train ride the 'hike' is a flat and easy 1.5 miles before you get to the glacier with more trails that get closer. THIS IS BEAR COUNTRY, TRAVEL IN GROUPS AND WITH BEAR PROTECTION.
Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center
For a fun and family friendly activity that lets you see wildlife from a safe distance this is always a good choice.
Alaska SeaLife Center
If you are looking to travel way out of town then please check out Seward! We make a yearly trip to the sealife center.
Alyeska Nordic Spa
For all day relaxation. The spa is a favorite of ours, you can stay there all day, they serve good food and drinks, you may bring in your own water bottle. Bring a good book, no electronics are allowed in the spa so you can truly disconnect. Pricing ranges from $129-$139 depending on when you visit, check out their specials to see if you can save more money.
