Michael and Elizabeth were set up by friends in the fall of 2017, but knew of each other before from both attending Ferris State University. Their first date was at The Morrie in Royal Oak, where they discovered that Elizabeth had been to multiple parties at two of Michael's apartments in college and that they had had a class together, but had never met one another. After that date, Michael and Elizabeth continued getting to know each other and hung out almost every week. Although Michael never officially asked Elizabeth to be his girlfriend, the couple considers that time frame to be their anniversary. Over the next few years they continued to date, and in July 2019 Elizabeth convinced Michael to get a dog. They got their dog Banks, and he is the highlight of their lives. In September 2019, Elizabeth moved in with Michael and his roommates while Michael looked for a house to buy. Michael and Elizabeth bought their first home in February 2020, and have spent the past two years renovating and making the house their home. In November 2021, Michael proposed to Elizabeth and it was perfect. Michael and Elizabeth can't wait to live out their lives together, and are so excited to see what the future holds.

Michael proposed on November 13th, 2021. Michael and Elizabeth walk Banks every Saturday morning, and while they were out Michael had their friend, Joanna Mansour, come over and decorate the house with rose petals and a sign with "Will you marry me?" on it. Elizabeth was completely surprised to see everything when they got home, and when Michael got down on one knee Banks made sure to make sure he was apart of it too by getting right in front of Michael. Elizabeth obviously said "YES" but cannot recall anything that Michael said because she completely blacked out when it happened. Michael and Elizabeth called and texted their family and friends right after to tell them the news. A few hours after Michael took Elizabeth to The Morrie in Royal Oak, where they had their first date, for a surprise party with all of their friends, some who even came in from Dallas and Arizona! Elizabeth was so surprised that she cried again (surprise, surprise). After The Morrie everyone went back to Michael and Elizabeth's house and continued to celebrate throughout the night. It was completely perfect in every way.
