The Girl and Boy Next Door

All it took was a simple hello

I moved into this adorable 3 bedroom duplex in 2017. It is on the perfect little country road with an acre of backyard. My sweet pup Jake and I embarked on a new adventure. In 2019 after a hard couple first years here, this amazing guy and his friends (roommates) moved in right next door. On March 12th I was carrying Layah and groceries into the house and I finally caught him. I said "Hi! I'm Hannah!" and he smiled and introduced himself. Jake barking in the window makes us laugh now like he was telling me "Mom thats it, that's the one." Over the next 6 months we grew in our friendship, he was the first friend I made in Richmond and always watched out for Layah, Jake, and I. In September of 2019 we became very close and were hanging out every day after work/school. He asked me out on November 20th. We were hit with covid shortly after and decided to quarantine together. We got a puppy together, a red "golden" retriever Josie in January who we found out was born on our anniversary of Nov 20th. In August of 2020 we moved in together and got new neighbors! (He moved to the girly side of the duplex but the bachelor pad had come to an end.) A month later we found out in September of 2020 we were expecting and halloween night we found out what I had already known the whole time, we were having a babygirl who we would name after Wills late father Davy who passed in September of 2019, followed with her middle name Joan, for my later grandmother who passed in 2017. In 2021 we had a BIG YEAR! We brought our beautiful daughter into the world on May 26th, and became engaged the day after my Mimi's birthday on October 23rd in front of the elephants at the louisville Zoo where I have several pictures growing up with my Mimi. My Gatsby hand designed diamond rings came in a three set and I was absolutely blown away. All three engraved with "You'll Always Be My Girl." We have planned and planned and planned some more! We wanted to wait until Daviyla was around 5 years old, could enjoy and remember her Mama & Daddy getting married. How many kids can say they witnessed such a special moment? SO we apologize for the long engagment. I picked out our wedding venue 4 months into dating, when you know you KNOW. Our wedding venue was a 1920s speakeasy location during the prohibition. If you know me, you know I have been obsessed (understatement) with the "The Great Gatsby," since i was in my early teens. I have read the book front to back atleast 25 times. So this venue having the 20s history AND us getting married in the roaring 20s is such a gift for us. If you have read all of this, I thank you for being apart our love, our journey these past seven years, and this new journey as husband and wife. I am beyond reading to change this last name! SO... #TurnHerTURNER
