We were friends for several years when it happened. Sitting on a couch on February 4th 2018.... the kiss. A magical moment that, while Arnout initiated it, surprised both of us. It was one of those moments from a movie where sparks fly all around you and the world kind of disappears as you go through .... the kiss.

Our first date was at Nonna Emilia. A classic local Italian restaurant that has been here for decades. This happened after .... the kiss. Arnout picked up Sandi from her Sister house (named that way not because it was her sister's house, but because it was on Sister Ln). Arnout did the classic thing to pick her up with flowers. Dinner was great. Both enjoyed the lasagna, which is what makes this restaurant famous (and the calzone). Something that Sandi and Arnout have done, always, is what continued here as well.... good conversations. But this dinner aa lot of looking at each other in that peculiar way. You know what is meant here.

Sandi has never been to Disneyland. For years Arnout secretly planned to take her there one day. On July 10th in 2023, after visiting Seaworld in San Diego, it was finally time. But.... Something was wrong. While sitting at the hotel waiting for the Lyft ride to Disneyland park Sandi noticed that Arnout was not doing well. He seemed out of it and he said his stomach was a bit upset. Sandi asked if Arnout wanted to wait and go later, but he said no to that. His stomach was upset for other reasons, he just could not tell yet. After arriving at the park as the gates opened Sandi and Arnout went inside. Arnout noticed that it was super crowded in front of the castle and bridge for a nice picture, so he mentioned they go on a ride. Two rides to be exact. The robin hood and buzz lightyear rides. When they returned to the castle it was time for a picture. As the photopass was purchased Sandi expected Arnout to walk up to one of the Disney photographers, but Arnout did not. Arnout stood there awkwardly and waited for something. As a nice gentleman came closer Arnout approach this stranger and asked him for a picture of them two. As the stranger got ready Sandi noticed Arnout searching in the bag. She assumed it was for some medicine as he was not feeling well. Instead... Arnout went on one knee and proposed. Beautifully, in front of a castle.
