We first met in 2016 at a high school career center, where we spent three class periods together every day—Danny went to Bolingbrook, and Becca went to Romeoville. At the time, we were just friends. In fact, on the last day of school, instead of saying goodbye, Becca gave him the middle finger, fully expecting that would be the last time we'd ever see each other. As it turns out, that wasn’t the end of our story—it was just the beginning. After high school, we started talking more and more. Danny was stationed in Georgia at Fort Stewart with the Army, while Becca was back home in Illinois attending college. What began as catching up quickly turned into something more, and after a month or two of talking, we officially started dating on June 11, 2017. For nearly three years, we made long distance work. We spent as much time together as possible—whether that meant trips to Georgia to visit Danny on base or the cherished weeks he spent back home during the summer and winter. We filled those short visits with as many memories as possible, celebrating holidays like the Fourth of July and Christmas side by side. In 2020, when Danny returned home after completing his military service, we took the next big step and moved into our first apartment together—with Becca's dog, Swiffer. Not long after, we bought our first home and added another furry family member, our puppy Maze. Together, we navigated all the ups and downs of becoming first-time homeowners and puppy parents, growing stronger with every challenge. On December 16, 2023, we got engaged—and couldn’t be more excited to spend the rest of our lives together. We are so grateful for everything we've built and can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with the people we love most.
